Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a doctors prescription to be seen?
No! Massachusetts is a direct access state, meaning you can be seen for an evaluation and treatment from a licensed physical therapist without a prescription or referral from a MD. Through extensive training we are aware of when to refer for further testing or imaging which will decrease your wait time to be seen.
Do you accept my insurance?
We are considered an Out-Of-Network (OON) provider and do not directly bill insurance companies. If your insurance company reimburses for OON providers we can provide you with a bill for you to submit for reimbursement. You can also submit our services under Flex Spending Accounts. We require payment via cash, check, Venmo, or credit card at the time of service. In doing so we are able to focus 100% of our attention on you and guiding you back to health without the restraints that insurance companies put on PT services. Normally PT clinics require 30 minute visits with multiple patients overlapping every hour. With focused one on one care, our goal is to improve access to care with less visits than busy insurance based PT clinics.
What should I expect on my first visit?
You should expect to spend 60-90 minutes on your first visit with me as we analyze your movement patterns, flexibility, soft tissue mobility, and motor control. You will receive treatment and homework to start with after your first visit. Please come dressed in comfortable layered clothing that will allow us to visualize your back, shoulders, and hips. We have a private treatment space that will allow us to maintain your comfort and privacy. Follow up visits will be 60 minutes.
What happens if I cancel or don’t show up?
Out of respect for our other clients trying to be seen, we request 24 hour notice for any cancellation. For less than 24 hours notice or a no show, your credit card on file will be charged the full price of your session.
